About People for Cats
Our Mission
PEOPLE FOR CATS (PFC) is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization that operates a no-kill shelter serving the towns of Falmouth, Bourne, and Mashpee. PFC is dedicated to finding good homes for adoptable stray and surrendered cats and kittens, reducing the stray and feral population through spaying and neutering and educating the public about responsible cat care and ownership.History
PEOPLE FOR CATS has been serving the community since 1993. During the first ten years, committed volunteers used their own homes to shelter abandoned and homeless cats. In 2003, PFC open its first no-kill shelter in a barn rented from Deer Run Veterinary Services. However, the dream was always to have a permanent facility to meet the needs of homeless cats and kittens as well as our volunteers and adopters. Our Shelter
In the fall of 2011, a new 2,500 sq. ft. shelter was completed and is now our home. The shelter is designed to provide an environment that maintains our cats' good health, sustains a pleasant environment for our volunteers and provides a welcoming place for visitors and adopters. The shelter includes three separate cat suites with outdoor pens, a holding room for cats before they visit the vet, a self-sufficient quarantine room and a special room for the kittens that come to the shelter for adoption from their foster homes.© People for Cats 2024
